23rd Annual “Celebrate De Pere” Festival Announces 2nd stage bands, Title Sponsor & New Prices

Memorial Day Weekend (May 25 – 27) at Voyageur Park – De Pere, WI

DE PERE, W.I. (March 27, 2013, 2013) – The 23rd annual three-day Celebrate De Pere festival kicks off on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Voyageur Park on the Fox River in De Pere. One of the premier outdoor festivals held in Wisconsin, Celebrate De Pere will feature live music, family activities and a spectacular fireworks display. Crowd favorites like the Bay Area Granite & Marble Redneck Regatta, De Pere Auto Car Show and Larry’s Piggly Wiggly Fishing Tournament.  There will also be a 2nd Waterfront Riverview Stage again this year with even more great music from local artists. This volunteer-run event is hosted by The Celebrate Committee Inc., whose mission is to help raise money for a number of local non-profit groups.

The Celebrate Committee, Inc. is proud to announce Community First Credit Union as the Title Sponsor for Celebrate De Pere.  Community First Credit Unions community involvement begins with the fundamental belief that as a member-owned financial cooperative they want to go beyond providing financial services. As a Credit Union in Northeast Wisconsin Community First has a philosophy of “People Helping People” and has a solid history of providing their time and resources in ways that help promote financial literacy, social well-being and improve the quality of life where our members live and work.  “We are thrilled with Community Firsts commitment again this year.” said Mark Hubert, of The Celebrate Committee, Inc.  “They have supported Celebrate De Pere for many years and we couldn’t raise the money for the other local non-profit groups without their support.  They lead the group of our outstanding sponsors that are a big reason we can make the impact and raise the money that we do every year.”

Celebrate De Pere 2013 will be implementing a new ticket price structure.  The family friendly event will still cost only $5 for a day pass if you buy your tickets in advance or at the park before 7:00 PM.  After 7:00PM the gate admission goes up to $10 both Saturday, May 25th and Sunday, May 26th.  Monday, May 27th will stay by monetary donation with 100% of donations brought in at the gates on Monday going to veteran groups.

“Many factors were involved with our choice to raise costs at the gate. Each year we face higher costs and that, along with our consistent drive to improve the festival we feel these increases are necessary.” Explained Mark.

Advance tickets available now at local Festival foods and Community First Credit Union locations.  Vendor and sponsorship opportunities are available now.  For more information, visit www.celebratedepere.com.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CELEBRATE DE PERE PRESENTS CHARITIES WITH $91,000 IN DONATIONS

Annual Festival Has Raised & Given Away $2 Million Since 1990

De Pere, WI – August 28, 2012 – The organizers of Celebrate De Pere (http://celebratedepere.com), Wisconsin’s premiere outdoor festival, today presented $91,000 in money raised during its annual 3-day event in Voyageur Park (Memorial Day Weekend, May 26 – 28, 2012) to a slate of worthy local non-profit organizations. Founded in 1990 to commemorate the city of De Pere’s 100th Anniversary, Celebrate De Pere is run by an all-volunteer staff, with the annual mission to help local non-profit groups raise money for their many different causes.  Over its 22-year history, the festival has raised and given away over $2 million in contributions.

Operating under the banner of The Celebrate Committee, Inc., the festival’s board of directors selects worthy causes each year from the scores of non-profit 501(c)(3) applicants.  This year saw a total of 32 organizations each receiving a share of the total money raised.  A wide range of groups were selected this year, Desert Veterans of WI, Old Glory Honor Flights, Kress Library and the CP Center.  A complete list of recipients is available at below.

Mark Hubert, a Celebrate Committee Board Member said, “We are so thankful for to the Celebrate Committee, its board of directors and advisory committee, all the volunteers that come out and work the event, the nonprofit groups that run the tents, and the GREAT sponsors, without whose donations this event wouldn’t be possible.  And of course, each and every person that came out during the weekend to enjoy and Celebrate De Pere.  It is thanks to all of them that we are able to provide these donations.”

This year’s 3-day festival featured many local bands and was headlined by Dennis De Young (Styx) and country band Diamond Rio from Nashville.  Other events included a family fishing tournament, Redneck Regatta, Car Show, Rides and of course, a fireworks extravaganza.  It’s impossible to hold the event without local sponsorship which included the generous support of businesses like Community First Credit Union, Best Built, Festival Foods, Johnson Bank, Larry’s Piggly Wiggly, and radio stations WIXX and Y100.  A complete list of this year’s sponsors is available below.
